The British Embassy in Tel Aviv has a vacancy for a full-time Vice Consul, Grade LEII.
Gross Starting Pay: NIS 10,792 approx. per month plus generous benefits package. Office hours: Monday to Thursday 07:30 – 15:30, Friday 07:30 – 13:00. The initial contract will be for a three-month probationary period, which will be extended one year at a time.
Main Duties:
• Line Management of a team of Consular staff • Implementation of policy on nationality and passport issues including passport validation • Assistance to British nationals including prison and hospital visits, dealing with death and bereaved families, notarial work and liaison with local authorities as appropriate • Processing of visas for certain Commonwealth countries and British Overseas Territories • Oversight of birth and death registrations • Completion of statistical returns, daily and monthly fee certificates and oversight of fee collection. Essential Skills:
• The role requires a person with leadership skills, who is a self starter and has the ability to work independently but also as part of a team • Fluent in Hebrew and English (oral and written) • Strong IT skills.
